I worked in NH for years. It's not the horrible parents who are the only ones being ignored. It's actually a rarity for any family to be there for their "loved one". You'd see them maybe on major holidays. And, of course the second the resident passed a flock of family would descend like vultures to pick whatever was left of the estate. To the point they'll leave funerals to the state to get a bigger inheritance. It's impossible that 96% of parents earned this level of neglect.
